Jane passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She was 61 years old.
Jane had an intense compassion for art that spanned her whole life. It dates back to her first accomplishment at the age of 5, which was winning a coloring contest.
This award winning artist received numerous awards, including 2nd place, 3rd place and 4 merit awards in juried Ann Arbor Women Artists Exhibitions and at the Lansing Art Museum. Jane explored many media, including pencil drawing, photography, watercolor, mono-types, oil pastels and acrylics.
Jane’s compassionate spirit came through in her teaching style. She taught a number of workshops in Toronto, Canada and also taught for many years at Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, Michigan, as well as at the Chelsea Center for the Arts.
Jane was a member of Chelsea Painters for 20 years, serving as a past president and secretary.
