Carol J. Evert lives in Saline, Michigan. Carol Evert’s vibrant watercolors examine the environment though closely viewed botanicals and still lifes. Her paintings focus on the flat and pattern-like shapes of leaves and plants and the voluptuous blooms of flowers to communicate the wonder of nature. The resulting paintings are boldly intimate and slightly abstract works of art.
Her work has been in group and solo exhibitions, including UM Gifts of Art, Motts Children’s Hospital, as well as Art Prize in Grand Rapids. She was honored to be included in Michigan Water Color Society’s 2012 & 2013 exhibitions.
Carol received her BS degree from Eastern Michigan University and worked in the corporate world until she retired in 2006. She recently continued her studies as a graduate student at EMU where she studied watercolor. She is a member of the Saline Painters Guild, Ann Arbor Women Artists, Ann Arbor Arts Alliance, Michigan Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and was recently accepted into Chelsea Painters. Carol maintains her studio in Saline, Michigan.
