Chelsea Painters is pleased to announce its new book, “Chelsea Painters, Celebrating Their Art.” This is the first book produced by the group and features more than 120 generously sized images of paintings by 28 artists. The book will be available for the first time at the Chelsea Painters Art Fair, June 4th and 5th, 2011, where the artists will be available for book signing.
The 128-page hardcover book begins with a brief history of the Chelsea Painters and ends with short bios of each of the represented artists. In between are at least 4 full-color paintings by each member of the group. The book measure approximately 8.5″ x 11″ and sells for $39.00.
Chelsea Painters is a diverse group of talented men and women who are actively involved in art on local, regional and national levels. Members include nationally recognized painters and signatory members of artist societies throughout the nation. The group will be celebrating its 38th Annual Art Fair during June, 2011.
The book is dedicated to Madeleine Vallier, in deep gratitude for continuing the legacy of Betty Maxwell, out of whose painting classes the Chelsea Painters was born. One of Madeleine Vallier’s watercolors appears on the cover.
The book is also in memory of a treasured and long-time member, Jane Farrell, who passed away shortly before publication. The book contains a page dedicated in Jane’s memory, as well as several of her paintings. The group is grateful to have Jane’s work included in this milestone book.
