Mary’s desire to draw and paint is directly related to her need to explore and experience life with color and intensity. Her work resembles these urges, captured in her use of vivid and saturated color palettes. Her use of mixed media takes her work one step further, captivating the senses through line, texture, and pattern. Each painting is a new discovery, guided by process and the study of her materials.
Mary’s smaller studio work plays a very important role in the development of her career as a mural painter. Mary took her love of painting and community development to new a level when she founded her mural business, TreeTown Murals, in 2007. The diversity of her work can be seen in these two parallel undertakings, her love of mixed media studio painting and her desire to research and produce murals for private spaces, corporate businesses, public city centers and neighborhoods.
