"Birthday Bouquet", Acrylic, 30 x 21
Jane has had an intense compassion for art that has spanned her whole life. It dates back to her first accomplishment at the age of 5, which was winning a coloring contest.
This award winning artist has received numerous awards, including 2nd place, 3rd place and 4 merit awards in juried Ann Arbor Women Artists Exhibitions and at the Lansing Art Museum. Jane has explored many media, including pencil drawing, photography, watercolor, monotypes, oil pastels and acrylics.
Jane’s compassionate spirit comes through in her teaching style. She has taught a number of workshops in Toronto, Canada and has taught for many years at Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, Michigan, as well as at the Chelsea Center for the Arts.
Jane has been a member of Chelsea Painters for 20 years, serving as a past president and secretary. She continues to be drawn to create pencil drawings and water-based oil monotypes.
