"The Great Gate of Kiev," Mosaic, 32x24
Ilona is an award-winning artist who developed a love for mosaics at a workshop in 2004. Since then she has experimented with new mosaic techniques including hand made tiles, found objects, stones, shells, and ”almost any solid object I can adhere to a backing board.” Generally Ilona’s art is bold, colorful, and playful, retaining a strong, linear approach to design.
Publications in which Ilona’s work is featured are: In Drought Times and The Mosaic Artist’s Bible of Techniques, and BREAKOUT! Your Pathway to Success. She has also participated in a collaborative mosaic mural in Novi, Michigan.
Ilona’s work is shown at Earth Arts Gallery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
